Corporate Performance Management

When is it Time to Invest in Your Team’s Corporate Performance Management Training?

When was the last time your team participated in training for your corporate performance management system? For those who utilize it daily, your system has likely proven to be a blessing. It is highly probable that your business operates at maximum capacity because of that system, and so keeping that corporate performance management system and any applicable training up-to-date just makes good business sense.

So, is it time for a training update? Could your team members benefit from a refresher? Here are some things to consider.

Has formal training ever taken place? This may seem like a no-brainer, but if there was no real formal training and instead your team members have just picked up bits and pieces along the way, things may be running competently, sure, but there is no guarantee that they’re running as effectively as possible.

If training has taken place, how much time has passed since the original training was conducted? If it has been a while, chances are many don’t really remember what the system can do, just how they use it on a regular basis. Just because things are working just fine, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t things that would allow for greater efficiency. Nor does it mean that the original training, even if it covered everything, was taken in and that team members continue to follow best practices.

What about when new members join the team? Staff turnover often necessitates some form of training. New employees need to know the ins and outs of your system. That’s just common sense.

What if your current staff members were trained by former employees who are no longer there? What did they know anyway? Were they learning from the most informed? A refresher never hurt anyone and it is a good way to weed out any bad habits that may have been passed down.

System updates are another reason to host some training sessions for your team. Often updates include various new features, features which may prove especially useful in eliminating errors or redundancies from your processes. When you’ve invested time and money into a financial system, make sure you’re taking advantage of every benefit available.

Training takes time and resources, we get that, but it also helps to ensure that your employees and your company are getting the most value possible from that investment. With training from a specialist, you can be sure that your team is getting the most from that system, helping to increase productivity and effectiveness.
